Allan R. McCurdy

Allan R. McCurdy passed away peacefully on January 26, 2026. He was 90 years old.

Born in Philadelphia on August 23, 1935. He was a loving and devoted husband to Annamarie McCurdy for 68 years. He was a devoted father to Craig (Mary), Annette (the late John), Patricia (James), John (Dorothea) and Allana (Charles). He was a cherished grandfather to 12 grandchildren, Laurie, John, Roseann, Christina, Christian, John, Angelique, Bryan, Paul, Kevin, Charles and Nicolette. He was also a cherished great grandfather of 12. Emma, Melanie, Nathan, Kayla, Colton, Carlos, Jeremiah, Luca, Tyler, Christopher, Lillian and Jameson. He is also survived by nieces, step grandchildren, step great grandchildren and his best friend Buddy (dog).

A lifelong resident of Philadelphia, Allan was in the Methodist orphanage as a child. He graduated from Olney High School. Allan worked at Somerset Electric as a mechanic repairing electrical motors for many years.

He served in the Army National Guard from 1953 to 1960 and will receive military honors followed by burial at Washington Crossing National Cemetery at a future date.

Allan found joy in traveling with his wife, fishing and flea marketing. He was a devoted fan of Philadelphia sports, especially the Philadelphia Phillies. His life was rich with cherished memories, a loving family, and truly great friends.

Please join Allan's family on Thursday, February 5, 2026 from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Delaware Valley Cremation Center, 7350 State Road, Philadelphia, PA 19136, for a gathering of remembrance in honoring and celebrating his life. A service for him will begin at 7:00 pm, followed by fellowship, until 9:00pm. Allan's family will be accessible to receive the loving comfort of your condolences, remembrance, and support throughout the evening.
