Amelia Davis

Amelia Davis (née Hillibush), 101, of Philadelphia, formerly of Mahanoy City, PA, passed away peacefully on April 24, 2025.

Born on February 14, 1924, in Mahanoy City, Amelia lived a long, full life marked by deep love of her family, resilience, and unwavering kindness. She was married to the late Robert Davis Sr. for 66 years before his passing in 2012. Together, they built a legacy of love and family that continues to live on through generations.

Amelia was the devoted mother of Nancy Durant (late Joseph Durant), William R. Davis (LaVerne Davis), and the late Linda Miller and Robert Davis Jr. She was mother to special nephew Joseph M. Farrell (Peggy) and niece, Eileen M. Shoemaker (Farrell) and late Antonia O’Connor. Pop and Min took many others, far and near under their wings of love and acceptance.

She was a cherished grandmother to Nicole Woods, Melinda McQueen, Scott Durant, Lauren Baldwin, Lindsey Davis, and was preceded in death by her grandsons Bryan Miller and Robert Davis III. She was blessed with 11 great-grandchildren Riley, Anthony, Bethany, Elliana, Zachary, Brooke, Alivia, Joshua, Jaxson, Macy, Ryan and one great-great-grandchild Jaxson.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Evelyn Farrell, and leaves behind many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.

Amelia was known for her warm heart, gentle wisdom, and deep devotion to her loved ones. Her memory will be carried on through the stories, traditions, and love she shared with all who knew her.

Please join the Davis family on Saturday November 22, 2025 from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm at the Delaware Valley Cremation Center, 7350 State Road, Philadelphia, PA 19136, for a gathering of remembrance in honoring and celebrating Amelia's life. A service for her will begin at 4:00 pm, followed by time for refreshments and food, until 6:00pm. Amelia's family will be accessible to receive the loving comfort of your condolences, remembrance, and support throughout the evening.
