Aniceta Tanteras Houston, age 76, peacefully passed away on December 8, 2020 in Philadelphia, PA. Born in Negros Occidental, Philippines, she came to the U.S. in her early twenties. She settled in Philadelphia, PA, to build a life she loved and plant the seeds of her legacy.
For over 26 years, she worked for the Internal Revenue Service before retiring in 2013. Mrs. Houston was a devout Christian and proud member of various Filipino-American associations in the Greater Philadelphia area. Best known for her cooking, she will always be remembered for her delicious traditional Filipino dishes.
In her last year, she fought cancer until the Lord called her home. Aniceta is survived by her three children, Eric Scott of Levittown, PA, Ingrid Scott-Donnelly of North Brunswick, NJ, and Davina (Robert) DeMark of Philadelphia, PA. Four grandchildren and one great-grandchild also survive her as well as siblings, nieces, nephews, and extended family in the Philippines.
Aniceta’s life and legacy will be celebrated in a private virtual memorial for family and friends. Those wishing to honor her life can donate in her name to the Ovarian Cancer Research Alliance .
