Anne Marie Logan

Anne Marie Logan, devoted wife, beloved mother, “Grammy,” GiGi, sister, daughter, aunt, passed away peacefully on May 29th surrounded by her loving family.  Family was her everything.  She was strong, creative, funny, loving, and a doer through and through.

She met the love of her life, Mike in 1968 following his return from Vietnam.  They married on August 16, 1969, which was also her birthday.  They have two daughters Angela and Julia.  A more devoted wife and mother, you could not find.  Though there were rough years in Anne’s early childhood, she became this amazing wife and mother who always put her family first.  A special thank you goes out to her stepmother, Alice.  Anne always credited her for helping to put the family back together and allowing Anne to finish her childhood. Professionally, she served as Democratic Election Commissioner for Canandaigua, NY.  She was a trailblazer for women and children’s rights.  Her political battles mirrored what she had missed in her own childhood which made her character and integrity even more remarkable.  She went on to become one of a few female delegates to the Democratic National Convention in 1984, a fond moment in life she recounted often.  Mom wanted to make a difference, and she did—both personally and politically.  Following her political career, Anne excelled in sales, selling furniture and even winning awards for the amount of money she earned for her employers.  She had big dreams for her daughters to graduate college.  She wanted them to be strong, successful women empowered to stand on their own feet and be financially independent.  Those desires were realized thanks to her loving guidance.  Though dementia slowly robbed her mind, it never touched her heart.  She loved fiercely, loyally, and completely.  She loved being a grandmother.   Jessica and Billy still remember their trip with Grammy and Poppy to Disney World, and how Grammy taught them how to swim.  She took care of Logan when he was young and went to many of his baseball games. She loved cooking, politics, music, going to concerts, solving puzzles, designing her home, but her favorite job was being the best wife/mom/grammy/gigi.  Prior to dementia, she was a voracious reader, staying on top of world events and always loved a good biography.  Though Michael’s job moved the family frequently, she took pride in turning each house into a home.  She had great vision and sense of style.  Anne also had a connection to nature.  She enjoyed taking her grandson to see the rabbits and then her great grandson for walks to see the squirrels.  While sitting outside, she would always stop us to listen to “her birds.”  The moment she passed, we all heard “her birds” singing loud and clear.

She was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) the day after Mother’s Day, 2022 and was given weeks to live.  Her days in pain were short, even having reunions with family and friends just a week to days before her death.  Though she is gone, her love and influence remain with us all.  We all feel honored to have been part of her family.

She is predeceased by her father Chester Aultman who she missed terribly and spoke of so often.  She loved her dad, and we take comfort in knowing that they have been reunited.  She is survived by her devoted husband, Michael; her daughters Angela “Angie” Logan (partner Ken Novak) and Julia Falone; her grandchildren, Jessica Bonuomo (Mike), William “Billy” Falone (fiancé Naomi Kling), and Logan Novak; and her great grandson Aiden Simmonds.  She is also survived by her stepmother Alice Aultman, her brothers Dana Aultman (Maggie), Ric Aultman (Gayle), and Dave Aultman (Sandra), and sister Diane Wall (Mark), and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

In lieu of flowers, please complete three random acts of kindness to help embody the loving, giving spirit that was Anne.  A memorial will be held later in the summer with a date to be announced.
