Carla Mary Otto

Philadelphia- Carla M. Otto, 81 passed away peacefully surrounded by family on June 18, 2022. She was born October 27, 1940, in Philadelphia, PA, the daughter of Norman and Mary (Baur) West.

Carla completed some college and vocational school where she became a medical assistant and worked until retirement for many years.  She was married to her late husband Joseph, and had many children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed spending time with family, shopping, going out to eat, camping and relaxing on her back deck. Her bags were always packed for the next adventure. Sadly, Carla lost her battle with cancer, after fighting several years, extending her precious time here on earth.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Joseph S. Otto, Sr. Surviving relatives are her children, son Robert Dicks Jr., daughter Dorothea Dotter (Randy), son Stephan Dicks (Kristen), daughter Denise Drag (Sal Traina), son Joseph Otto Jr., and daughter Sandra Hilghman (Larry); her sisters, Norma Pawlikowski (Sonny), Gloria Sztenderowicz (predeceased Stanley), and Linda Clase (Glenn). She was also survived by thirteen grandchildren, and four great grandchildren with one on the way; many nieces and nephews and extended family.

Please join the Otto family after 6:00pm on Wednesday July 6th 2022, at Delaware Valley Cremation Center 7350 State Road Philadelphia, PA 19136 for a gathering of remembrance in honoring and celebrating Carla's life. Family sharing will begin at 7:00pm with time for refreshments and fellowship immediately afterwards, until 9:00pm where Carla’s family will be accessible to receive the loving comfort of your condolences, remembrances and support. She will be buried alongside her husband at Rosedale Memorial Park 3850 Richlieu Road, Bensalem PA 19020.
