Charles T. Cummings died of natural causes at the age of 90, peacefully at home. He was born in June 1931 in Philadelphia. Charles enlisted in the Army in August 1948. He served in the Army 82nd Airborne, Rangers and the Special Forces Green Beret units. He started his award-winning boxing career in the army. He was married to his wife, Marion for over 70 years. He enjoyed coaching little league baseball and peewee football with his sons on the teams. He also enjoyed playing in the snow, summers at the shore, and surprise daytrips where he would "declare a holiday". He had a very special German Sheppard dog named "Joe" that he spoke of through his last days. In his middle years he enjoyed traveling with his wife, Marion on a motorcycle or one of his many boats. He worked well into his 70s as a carpenter earlier and construction superintendent in the later years. He was 78 years old on his last job. He was in the Carpenter's union for over 50 years. He was a mason and a Shriner for more than 50 years. He had a relationship with Jesus and longed to go home to be with Him. He is finally home.
Charles is survived by his wife, Marion Cummings, son Charles G Cummings and his wife, Pat Cummings, son Mike Cummings and his wife Peg Cummings, daughter Marion Snyder, daughter Dianne Marino and her husband Vince Marino, seven grandchildren and 5 greatgrandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at the Mercy Gate Church, 6035 Walker Street, Philadelphia PA., 19135. June 3rd 2022 at 2:00 PM. Luncheon immediately following.
