Charles J. DiMambro

Charles J. DiMambro, age 90, of Drexel Hill, PA, quietly passed away on August 5, 2025 at Lankenau Hospital, surrounded by his family. Charles was born on December 19, 1934 in Philadelphia. 

At the age of 17, he enlisted in the U.S. Army, and served most proudly in Korea during the war, and was Honorably Discharged from service in April 1961. During his younger years, Charles loved playing various sports, most especially baseball, and then became an avid golfer for many years, a game he taught to and played with his son, Charlie. He also loved horse racing, and spending time at the Borgata in Atlantic City.

Charles is preceded in death by his wife and “love of his life,” Elaine (nee DeSalvatore), brother, George DiMambro, and brother-in-law, Frank Santone. He is survived by his daughter, Gina Marie (James) Contento of Southampton, PA, and son, Charles, Jr., of Drexel Hil, PA. He is also survived by his brothers Joseph, Arthur (Carol), and Steve (Cindy), and his sister, Ruth Santone. 

Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation from 9:00-10:30 a.m. and his Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m., on Monday, August 18, 2025 at St. Dorothy’s Parish Church, 4910 Township Line Road, Drexel Hill, PA 19026.
