Courtney Donna Martin

Courtney Donna Martin, 32 years old passed away unexpectedly on May 13, 2025.

Courtney was born on May 28, 1992, at Northeastern Hospital in Philadelphia, PA to Joseph Martin and the late Michelle Wilkins. Courtney joined her big sister Ashley making them a family of four.

Courtney was a ball of energy from the moment she was born, demanding attention throughout her life.

She always made herself heard.

Courtney may have been the second child, but she always took charge wherever she was. She was joined by her little sister Taylor in 1995. During her childhood, she was often surrounded by her cousins, and would always try to be the boss. She was the “little Mommy” of the bunch. Courtney was the protector as they all grew older. Courtney had a huge heart, and cared probably too much for people. She had a “loud” personality, and had no qualms about speaking her mind. She let you know what she was thinking at any given time.

One of Courtney’s favorite things was being with babies and little children. She loved caring for little ones. Being with little ones brought her joy. She had such a kind, caring heart. To explain the kindness and caring instinct in Courtney’s soul is impossible.

The happiest day of Courtney’s short life was August 2, 2013. That was the day her Thomas was born. He came into this world early, but at the most perfect time for his Mom. He was perfect, and the most important thing to her. You can see this by viewing her Facebook photos - just about every single one is of Thomas or the two of them together. She loves Thomas more than anything in this world. She may not be here physically to continue to love him, but she now has the absolute best seat to watch over him every single day. If love alone could solve anything and everything, she and Thomas would be on top of the world right now.

Courtney was the firecracker in our family, the one we could always depend on to keep us on our toes. She was sunshine and fire all rolled into one.

We will never understand why Courtney was taken from us just 16 months after our Ashley. We may never heal from this. But we will live each day in remembrance of our girls.

Courtney is survived by her Dad, Joe, her little sister Taylor, her grandmother Peggy, her Aunt Susan, her Uncle Ray, her cousins (more like brothers) Greg (Brittany), Raymond Jr. (Tiffani), and Christopher, and many extended family members. Courtney was predeceased by her grandfather Raymond Martin Sr and her big sister Ashley. The brightest light Courtney is survived by is her son Thomas Dixon Jr.

Please pray that Thomas continues to grow surrounded by love and plenty of continual reminders of the love his Mom had for him.

Our hearts are broken, likely permanently.

“Courtney - I loved you fiercely, and will for the rest of my life. I was not ready for you to leave this world. Not at all. You had so much life left to live and so much love left to give. I will miss you forever.” - Aunt Sue.
