Daniel Gallagher lost his valiant battle with cancer unexpectedly on June 24, 2026. Dan was born and raised in the Kensington section of Philadelphia. As an Irish Catholic, Dan attended St. Hugh of Cluny Elementary and the infamous North Catholic High School for Boys.
If you knew Dan, you know soccer was a huge part of his life. He grew up playing on the fields at Lighthouse, helping the team take City Champs, not once, but twice! Dan’s love for soccer never faded. He continued to enjoy watching games with his wife and grandkids and was super excited to watch the USA win on home soil for this year’s World Cup!
After working many years for ACME to provide for his family, the company shut their doors. In true Gemini fashion, Dan went back to school and became a Master Plumber, graduating first in his class!
Dan’s whole life was dedicated to his family. They were his whole world. Finding the love of his life in high school, he and Colleen married and started their journey together. There have been ups and downs throughout the years, but their love saw them through…51 love-filled years, 3 kids and 7 grandchildren later, Dan had everything he dreamed of and more!
A husband, Best Friend, Dad, Pop, Father-in-Law, Brother, Uncle, Friend, Beav…synonymous with loving, kind, selfless, witty, patient, understanding, and strong…God truly gained an Angel. Dan is survived by his loving Wife and Soulmate, Colleen (Nee Lund), his daughters, Heather Macko (John) and Bridget Lincoln (Michael), his grandchildren Celsea Morgan, Griffin, John, Daniel, Rohan, Alexandria and Dominic and his grand-dogs, Marni Mac and Archibald. Dan was preceded in death by his son, Daniel, and we take comfort in knowing they have been reunited.
Dan will be truly missed by many, and the world will be much less colorful without him. We lost our Hero.
