Daniel R. Gilgen

Daniel R. Gilgen was born on August 1st 1973 and passed away on July 9th 2022. Beloved son of the late Harriet (Stevens) and John C. Gilgen, and loving brother to the late Thomas M. and John P. Gilgen (Rosemary). He is survived by his sister Diane Hoelsworth (Michael) and nieces Jennifer and Kristen Gilgen, Emily Welfield and Lauren Hoelsworth and nephew Michael John Hoelsworth. He also had 4 great nieces and nephews.

Dan was a graduate of Archbishop Ryan High School class of 1991 and attended West Chester University. He worked for the USPS and the IRS.  Dan loved spending time with his family and friends. He was an avid outdoorsman and was known for his love of nature and animals from a young age.

He loved to camp, fish and hike the Appalachian Trail and Hawk Mountain. He visited most of our country’s national parks and even went on a safari in Africa. He took lots of beautiful photos of his adventures. He enjoyed his move to Seattle where his love of the outdoors continued on Mt. Rainer and The Cascades. He felt most at home out in nature.

A memorial mass will be held at St. Martha’s Roman Catholic Church 11301 Academy Rd, Philadelphia PA 19154 on Saturday July 30th, 2022. Visitation will be held at 9:30 am with the memorial mass to follow at 10:30 am. Interment will be private.
