Daniel J. Hudson, Jr.

Daniel J Hudson Jr. was born on September 6, 1937, in Mahanoy City Pennsylvania to Thelma and Daniel Hudson. Upon graduation from high school, Dan enlisted in the United States Navy where he proudly served his country aboard the USS Glennon. Following the completion of military service, Dan married Irene, his wife of 67 years and the love of his life! A dedicated son, husband, father, and grandfather, steadfast in his Christian faith, he passionately lived for his family and friends.

Loving father and hero to Dan (Cindi), Suzanne (Fran) Munizza, Lisa (Tim) Mason, and Linda (Marge). Proud grandfather and great grandfather to Samantha, Jake, Kristin, Zach, Tim, Mike, Lauren, Riley, Aubrey, and Leena.

Dan began a distinguished career with the Philadelphia Gas Works in 1963 serving in several leadership roles over the course of his 35 years of service. He was a highly respected friend and mentor to many of his colleagues throughout his tenure. Many of whom can credit him with helping to get their careers off to a successful start.

As a founding member of the Parkwood Youth Organization, he took immense joy in coaching and serving the community. While football and baseball were his favorite sports his true passion was fostering the character development of those who took part in the various programs.

His compassion and loving spirit will be dearly missed!

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Memorial service on Friday May 8, 2026, at Philadelphia Quartett Country Club,1075 Southampton Rd, Philadelphia, PA 19116. From 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm.
