Daniel Kozak

Daniel E. Kozak (Pappy)

Born in West Leisenring, PA to Joseph & Veronica (Zericheck) Kozak.  He lived most of his life in Levittown, PA.  Husband to his late wife, Joan Kozak, who predeceased him in 2018 after 62 years of marriage.

Daniel is survived by his five children & spouses:  Mark (Kathleen) Kozak, Dianne McCann, Joseph (Annette) Kozak, Daniel Kozak & Ilene (Mike) Addice.  He was also the beloved father of the late Renee Kozak.

Daniel is also survived by two of his seven siblings and spouses:  Ceil Vitti, Marie Egnot and the late Joseph (Andrea) Kozak. He was blessed with many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews and nieces.

Daniel served four years in the Navy aboard the USS Manchester, as a Radioman, during the Korean War and was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars PA Post 47.

Daniel was a loving husband and father, a devout catholic, current member of the St. Francis Cabrini Church and past member of St. Joseph the Worker Church.  He missed St. Joe’s after it closed in 2014, partly because he could walk to church to save on gas, since it was literally in his backyard.

Daniel spent 30 plus years as a U.S. Steelworker at the Fairless Hills Plant, retiring in 1990. He additionally spent time working as an auto mechanic part time at Sheldon’s Esso Station, also located in his backyard.  He enjoyed working on, and cussing at cars in his driveway for family and friends.

His life revolved around his family – it was all the little things he did for his family (he always thought of friends as family) – that made his life big and wonderful.

Sunday Mass - Cards – Polkas -Smoked Ham & Kielbasa – Coffee & Beer – Blackberry Picking for Moms Wonderful Pies– Playing the Numbers (He always had one that was going to hit) – Homemade soups – Jerkey – More Cards.  His life centered around filling his unfinished family room with family and friends and making all feel welcome and at ease.

Daniel will be cremated and his ashes spread with Joan’s at the Washington Crossing National Cemetary, 830 Highland Rd., Newtown, PA 18940 on January 3, 2023 at 10:30.  Followed by a small gathering for family at his home.
