Denean Renee Richardson- Branham

In a condolence letter to a grieving friend, Sigmund Freud wrote something about grief that still rings true: the pain never fully goes away, and no substitute ever quite fills its place — because grief is the price we pay for having loved and been loved. It’s what happens when the light and warmth someone carried into a room, simply by being who they were, is gone.

On Sunday, July 5, 2026, at approximately 5am, that light and warmth left the world for all who loved and were loved by Denean Renee Richardson-Branham. Denean went on to join her mother, Joyce Boyd and grandmothers, Pauline Richardson and Annabelle Boyd, leaving behind her husband, Norris Branham; siblings Tamala, Raymond, and Victoria Boyd; father, Raymond Boyd, Sr.; lifelong partners-in-crime Deborah Sumpter and Kim Jones; sister-friends Lisa Whitehead and Tricia Brown; and countless other family, friends, and co-workers.

Denean was a licensed practical nurse who devoted her career to the elderly residents at Blue Bell Place. She chose that work — and that role — because she believed everyone, especially those who had spent their lives charting the course for others, deserved to end it with dignity. She wanted to be the one to give them that. Her residents knew it, and they loved her for it.

She was a rock for her husband, Norris; a soft landing for her sister, Tamala; and a touchstone for her besties — Debbie, Kim, Lisa, and Tricia.

She will be forever mourned, deeply missed, and her memory always cherished.
