Dorothea G. Miller

Dorothea (Dee) Miller nee Bracken, 94, of Warminster, (formerly of Long Beach Island and Glenside) passed away peacefully on May 30, 2021. Dee was comforted through her final days in an unbroken circle of family, who enveloped her in the force of love. Dee was predeceased by her husband Fred of 64 years, her parents Guy and Dolores (Dolly) Bracken, and her brother James Bracken.

After graduating from Abington High School in 1944, Dee married Fred Miller. Together they made a wonderful family and great memories, living in Glenside and after her retirement from Prudential, moving to Long Beach Island. Dee treasured her time with her family and her many friends. An avid crabber, Dee loved nothing more than going outside to “check the traps” and then making the best crab cakes to feed whoever was lucky enough to be there for dinner.

Dee was an active member of the United Methodist church in Glenside and Beach Haven NJ.

Dee had a ‘green thumb’ and her flowers and beautiful gardens were appreciated by many. She enjoyed her time as a member of the Long Beach Island Garden Club and actively volunteering for Southern Ocean County and Deborah Hospitals. She relished traveling the world with her family and friends.

Dee was a cherished mom, grandmom, great grandmom, aunt, and friend. Her life will forever be celebrated by her children Patricia Montgomery, William (Donna) Miller, and Nancy (Rick) Powell. Dee treasured her grandchildren Hilary Montgomery, Megan (Dean) Ferguson, Ronald Montgomery, Amy (BJ) Smith, Joanna (Shawn) Hayden, Gillian (Jason) Powell, and Holly (Eddie) Grabinski. She will be missed by her seven (soon to be eight) great grandchildren. Her family is grateful for her wonderful friends and caregivers that loved her and checked on her until her last days.

A memorial service is planned for Thursday, June 3, 2021 at 3 pm at the Ann’s Choice Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Benevolent Fund at Ann’s Choice, 30000 Ann’s Choice Way, Warminster, in Dee’s name.Â
