Dorothyanne Stemmer

Dorthyanne Stemmer, born September 16th, 1952 of Langhorne, PA passed away peacefully at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Langhorne, PA on Thursday, November 17th, 2021 at the age of 69.

Beloved wife of Kenneth Rosen, Dorothy spent the remainder of her life in Langhorne, PA living with her husband. They both shared a common interest in their love for animals and enjoyed many days in the yard feeding the birds and enjoying time with their cats. Her love of cats was unconditional, and they were the essence and bright light as their children. She had a special relationship with the horses at Parx Casino Racetrack in Bensalem, PA. The horses knew her well and would run to see her each time she arrived to visit.

Dorothy and Ken met each other in 1992 in aviation flight training. Her flight instructor had told Ken “that you only get one of every 100 students and that she was a true natural”. They enjoyed the love of flight for many years to come during the partnership in life.

Over her lifetime, Dorothy worked at many unique and interesting places. Her last job was at Parx Casino Racetrack where she worked in the horseman’s bookkeeping office managing the transactions for purchasing and selling of the horses for the equestrian owners. Prior to that, she was the dining room manager at Charcoal Steaks in Yardley, PA. She was also the Finance Director for many years at the Planned Parenthood of Bucks County overseeing several sites and operations based out of Bristol, PA. She had many other accounting jobs in her earlier years, such as, Morton Thiokol in Newtown, PA.

Dorothy is the daughter of Jeanne Stemmer and the late Edwin Stemmer. Dorothy was the beloved wife of Kenneth Rosen. She is also survived by her sisters Judith Sample, Kathryn Lynch (Gregory), and Deborah Stemmer, and nieces Jessica Lynch and Jennifer Phillips, and her nephew Benjamin Phillips.

Dorothy will be greatly missed by all that knew her and shared in her life. We greatly appreciate all those who touched her life and for those coming today to say goodbye. Ken would like to thank all that knew her and loved her and is truly grateful for the time, memories, experiences, and everlasting love he and Dorothy shared together throughout their lifetime.

Please join the Stemmer family after 6:00 pm Tuesday, November 30th at Delaware Valley Cremation Center, 7350 State Road, Philadelphia, PA 19136 for a gathering of remembrance in honoring and celebrating Dorothy’s life. The memorial tribute service will begin promptly at 7:00 with time for fellowship immediately afterwards, from around 7:15 until 8:45 pm, where Dorothy's family will be accessible to receive the loving comfort of your condolences, remembrances and support.
