Earl J. Bagnell, Jr.

Earl J. Bagnell Jr., 66, of Philadelphia, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his family, on February 17, 2025. A true Philly sports fan, Earl had a deep passion for the Eagles and an unmatched knowledge of all things Philly sports. Whether it was football, baseball, or basketball, if there was a game on, Earl was tuned in—studying every play, debating calls, and sharing his insights.

Earl is survived by his beloved wife of 42 years, Jeanne (née Swope), and their children: Earl III (Camille), Margaret (Rob), Jamie, and Danny (Alexa). His greatest joy in life was being “Pop Pop” to his cherished grandchildren: Hayden, Leighton, Daniel, Chase, Tommy, and Dominic.

He was preceded in death by his father, Earl J. Bagnell Sr.; his mother, Agnes Bagnell (née Brennan); and his siblings, Beez, Drew, Shawn, Patty, and Debbie. He is survived by his siblings: Donna (Bruce), Brian, Peggy (the late Marc), and Cathi (Booker), as well as many cherished nieces, great-nieces, nephews, great-nephews, cousins, and lifelong friends.

Earl’s love for his wife, children, and grandchildren was immeasurable, and his presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Please join the Bagnell family on Saturday, February 22, 2025 from 3:00 - 6:00 pm at Delaware Valley Cremation Center, 7350 State Road, Philadelphia, PA 19136 for a gathering of remembrance in honoring and celebrating Earl's life. Family sharing for Earl will begin at 4:00 pm, followed by time for refreshments and food. His family will be accessible to receive the loving comfort of your condolences, remembrance, and support throughout the evening. The family is asking that no flowers be sent to the service and to please share your memories of Earl that night instead.
