Edward E. Caesar

It is with broken hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved Edward E. Caesar on June 9, 2026. He was a father, son, brother, uncle, lover, and a friend to all he met. He was a gentle giant of a man with an equally large heart who touched innumerable lives during his 58 years on earth. He was known for his love of music, his laughter, his kindness, and his eagerness to help and comfort others. In later years, he loved spending much of his days at the beach in Margate. He loved lifting weights and socializing at the gym, which often led to small groups of lifters conducting the equivalent of a late-night talk show on the gym floor. He especially enjoyed sharing holidays and special events with his family and friends, relaxing, laughing, and telling stories.

Eddie (or “Eggs,” as he was known as a kid and still known to some) was born to David (deceased) and Anna Marie Caesar and raised in the Parkwood neighborhood of Northeast Philly. He attended St. Anselm School and Archbishop Ryan High School. He went on to a career as a glazier, working on some of the tallest skyscrapers in the city with Glaziers Union Local 252. He reached the level of foreman until his retirement. His latest post-retirement position was as maintenance supervisor at Island Gym in Margate, where he was loved by staff and patrons alike.

Eddie is survived by his children, Shannon and Brandon (Maddy); his mother, Anna Marie (known as Nancy); longtime companion, Dawn; brothers, Stuart and Vincent (Elyse); sister, Dana; grandchildren, Eddie and Callum; nephews, Vincent and Julian; nieces, Erica, Rebecca, and Annalise; uncle, Robert Stuart; cousins, Michael Caesar, Lisa Caesar, Damon Williams, and Keith Stuart; and many other loving extended family members and friends.

Please join the Caesar family on Saturday June 20, 2026 from 3:00pm to 6:00 pm at Delaware Valley Cremation Center, 7350 State Road, Philadelphia, PA 19136, for a gathering of remembrance in honoring and celebrating Eddie’s life. A service for him will begin at 4:00 pm, followed by time for refreshments and food, until 6:00pm. Eddie’s family will be accessible to receive the loving comfort of your condolences, remembrance, and support throughout the evening.
