Edward J. Collins

Edward J. Collins 71, of Philadelphia died peacefully on January 4, 2024 following a long illness. Mr. Collins was the son of John F. Collins Jr. and Francis Toland Collins. He graduated from Cardinal Dougherty High School, class of 1970. Prior to his retirement, he had a long career as an optician at the PA College of Optometry, Salus University.

He is survived by his brother John F. Collins III, his two sisters, Connie Hanson of Arlington, TX and Fran Nase of Boyertown, PA as well as five nephews, four nieces and six grand nephews. Ed loved Ocean City, NJ where his family vacationed as a child. He had many friends and family members and was beloved by all. He will be remembered as a kind and wonderful man. To know him was to love him.  

Please join the Collins family on Saturday March 9, 2024 from 3:00 - 6:00 pm at Delaware Valley Cremation Center, 7350 State Road, Philadelphia, PA 19136 for a gathering of remembrance in honoring and celebrating Ed's life. A service for him will be at 4:00 pm. His family will be accessible to receive the loving comfort of your condolences, remembrances and support throughout the evening.
