Edward John Hengy passed away peacefully on November 27th, 2025 surrounded by his loving family.

Edward was born on March 4th, 1953 in Manchester, England to the late John Hengy and Joyce Hengy (nee Taylor)

Edward was the oldest of 4 children. He was the loving husband to the late, Bobbie Hengy and the father to Ryan, Torianne (Martin) and the late, Andrew. Ed was the loving Pop-Pop to Delaney, Kayleigh and Rylie Martin.

Ed served in the United States Coast Guard from 1971 to 1975. Ed continued to selflessly help other’s by serving with the Philadelphia Fire Department for over 40 years. Serving most of those years at engine 50 and later retiring out of the ARFF.

Ed loved the outdoors, especially spending his summers down Buttonwood Beach fishing and crabbing. He instilled his love of fishing and crabbing with his children and then later his Granddaughters.

Please join the Hengy family on Wednesday, December 03, 2025 from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm at the Delaware Valley Cremation Center, 7350 State Road, Philadelphia, PA 19136, for a gathering of remembrance in honoring and celebrating Ed's life. A service for him will begin at 7:00 pm, followed by time for refreshments and food, until 9:00pm. Ed's family will be accessible to receive the loving comfort of your condolences, remembrance, and support throughout the evening.
