Elizabeth “Ann” Glantz, age 72, passed away peacefully at her home on March 8, 2024. A beloved mother, dedicated nurse, and cherished sister, Ann was born on March 11, 1951 in Tacoma, Washington to her parents George Raber and Marjory Cummings. She moved to Philadelphia, PA as a young child and lived in Harrisburg as well as New Jersey. She graduated from nursing school at Hahnemann Hospital and spent her life working as a Registered Nurse. She worked with developmentally disabled individuals and later served as a Director of Nursing in home health care.
Ann’s unwavering dedication to caring for others allowed her to touch countless lives. Her empathy and kindness shone brightly, and anyone who knew Ann experienced her unconditional love. She was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.
Ann was a devoted mother, and her children were her greatest joy. She had two children, Luke (Bridget) Glantz and Diana (Mike) Hollenbach. She then opened her heart to four other children, Katie Lankford, Emily Lankford, Joseph Lankford, and Thomas Glantz (she later adopted Joseph Lankford and Thomas Glantz). She took immense pride in all of her children’s accomplishments and milestones and loved them each as her own. Her children could always rely on her unwavering support especially during their toughest moments.
Ann loved Christmas all year round, often listening to the cheerful melodies of Christmas music, regardless of the season. To her, Christmas was more than just a holiday; it was a feeling of warmth and togetherness that she carried in her heart every day. Ann always ensured that no one spent the holidays alone. She instilled this value not only in herself but also in her family, encouraging them to extend invitations to their friends who might otherwise find themselves without plans for the holidays. Her home radiated joy for all who entered, not merely a place to reside but a sanctuary filled with nostalgia and an everlasting sense of comfort.
Ann enjoyed the simple pleasures that surrounded her, from the comforting aroma of Yankee candles to the timeless allure of Thomas Kinkade art.
She cherished her role as Nana to her grandchildren Amber, Chloe, Abigail, Landon, and Hunter.
Ann is survived by her two sisters, Carol (Martin) Raber Stewart, Marjorie (Rob) Hill, and her brother, George (Emily) Raber. In addition to her immediate family, Ann is also survived by numerous extended family members and cherished loved ones, each holding a special place in her heart. Her best friend, Denise Yorke, remained by her side throughout her life's journey, bringing laughter into Ann's days.
As per Ann’s wishes, a private ceremony will be held for close loved ones. Ann’s spirit will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know her, and her legacy of compassion will endure for generations to come. Her love and light will forever guide us through the darkness.
