Elizabeth McFadden White

Elizabeth was born in Philadelphia, PA to Thomas and Elizabeth McFadden on July 17, 1925, the fourth of seven children.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Spencer G. White, stepson Kenneth S. White, grandson-in-law Josh Abbell, and great-great-granddaughter, Alivia Lutz.

She is survived by her daughter, Lori (Ben) Hynson; four granddaughters, Nicole Clipner Lawlor, Erica (Sam) Levin, Amy White, and Heather Kreismer; eight great-grandchildren, Tori (Dan) Lutz, Kolton Lawlor, Lukas Levin, Evan Levin, Sloane Levin, Beckett Kreismer, Maya Kreismer, and Julian Abbell; and one great-great-grandson, Tyler Lutz.

Known as Liz and later also as Betty, she was happily married to Spencer for 59 years until his death in 2011. Their home was always filled with their many siblings, nieces and nephews. That home was also always decorated to the fullest at holiday time. Liz loved all the holidays, but her favorite to decorate was Halloween, long before it became a trend.

She thoroughly enjoyed her role as wife of a musician, enjoying Spencer’s many musical gigs over the years with both his band, and as a Mummer. Liz retired early from her job as an assembly line worker in the production of TV and radio tubes in order to enjoy many summers at Wildwood, NJ, where Spencer played music and sang in nightclubs.

She loved spending time with all of her grandkids, feeding them “White’s Deli” (so named by the kids!) along with her specialty-- hot tea filled with evaporated milk and sugar. She had an easy way with children that won their lifetime devotion.

Liz loved flowers, and enjoyed spending time in Lori’s gardens. She once told Lori, “I’d spend my last dollar on a flower.”

At age 89 Liz accepted Jesus as her Savior, and was baptized at Second Baptist Church of Doylestown.

As she passed her 100th birthday and approached her 101st, her wish was to “go up in a puff!” when she left this world. She did just that, two days after her 101st birthday—calmly and peacefully.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, August 1, 2026 at Second Baptist Church of Doylestown, 6055 Swamp Rd., Fountainville, PA beginning at 10:30 AM, followed by a service at 11AM.
