Ethel C. Bergmark, known to her family as “Gram” and to all others as Essie, went to be with the Lord on July 4, 2023 at the age of 84 years.
A native of Philadelphia, PA, Essie was the youngest of four siblings. She had a true zest for life and enjoyed being a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was married to the love of her life, Jim, for 60 years. She was always the caregiver for anyone who needed her. She found a lot of joy in raising her children and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was happiest when her family was gathered together with her for any occasion.
She is survived by her children, Theresa (Rudy), Donna (Rene), Patricia, Lynne (Scott), James (Christine), and Stacy (Anthony), 10 grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim and her cherished companion, Mya.
Please join the Bergmark family after 10:30 a.m. on Sunday, July 9, 2023 at Delaware Valley Cremation Center, 7350 State Road, Philadelphia, PA 19136 for a gathering of remembrance in honoring and celebrating Essie's life. The memorial tribute service will begin promptly at 11:30 with time for a meal and continued fellowship immediately afterwards, from around 12:15 until 1:30 pm. Essie's family will be accessible throughout to receive the loving comfort of your condolences, remembrances and support.
Essie will be laid to rest with her husband, Jim at Washington Crossing National Cemetery 830 Highland Road, Newtown, PA 18940 at a later date.
