Frank “Big Frank” Pirrone, age 69, of Philadelphia, PA, passed away peacefully on May 18, 2025, in his hometown.
Born on December 16, 1955, in Philadelphia, Frank was a proud graduate of Mater Dolorosa School. A skilled carpenter, contractor, and true jack of all trades, he approached his work with passion and dedication, earning the respect of all who knew him.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents, Anthony Pirrone and Shirley (Gallagher) Pirrone. He is also survived by his seven brothers, who were a lifelong source of strength, camaraderie, and love.
He is survived by his loving wife, Pamela (Moncrief), and their three sons: Francis, Anthony (Despina), and Robert. He was a devoted grandfather to nine grandchildren and a cherished great-grandfather to one. Frank was affectionately known as “Pop” to everyone—a role he embraced with love and pride.
Known for his dry wit and classic dad jokes, Frank had a unique sense of humor that brought smiles to those around him. His strength—both physical and mental—was unmistakable and served as an inspiration to his family and friends. In his free time, he enjoyed collecting sports cards and had a fondness for scratch-off tickets.
