Fred Ransom Margerum

Fred Ransom Margerum, 81, of Morrisville, PA passed away peacefully on June 19, 2025 surrounded by family.

Born on September 30, 1943, to the late Fred P. and Jean Margerum, Fred grew up with a deep respect for nature, instilled in him during long fishing trips with his family and summers exploring the woods near their home.

He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Nancy Margerum, who shared in his adventures. Fred was the proud father of three children: Linda Kpui; Michael (Dawn) and Patrick. He was Grandpop to Maxwell, Patrick James, Alyssa and Anna. His legacy of kindness, curiosity, and quiet strength lives on in each of them.

Fred spent his professional life as a land surveyor, a career that blended his love for precision with his appreciation of the land.

Fred will be remembered for his calm presence, his deep laugh, and his tireless patience. He believed in living simply, respecting the earth, and casting a line whenever the opportunity struck.

His favorite place to be was out on the bay fishing with his children. Those quiet moments on the water were when Fred felt most at peace and was at his happiest. He passed his passion for fishing onto his children, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Fred, your love will forever be in our hearts. 

The family plans to hold a celebration of life at a later time.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Fred's memory to The Wetlands Institute, supporting the conservation of the waters and wildlife he so dearly loved. Wetlands Institute
