Frederick James Mcclain was born on June 16, 1946. He was born to parents James Mcclain and Jane Owen Green.
Frederick was discovered to be a musical prodigy as a child when he was able to play full songs on the piano without any former training, but just by listening. He went on to become classically trained and by age nine, could hold his own against any seasoned adult musician. In 1964, Frederick graduated from Benjamin Franklin High School, and the following year in 1965, enlisted into the US ARMY where he served two tours in Vietnam (combat) and was also a wireman. After being honorably discharged, he went back to his passion for music, playing concerts around the country with various artists and other musicians. After being on the road for some fifteen years, he decided to do something different. Frederick chose to go into healthcare where he landed a job at Abington Hospital as a Cardiology Technician. He remained there for more than thirty years until he was forced to retire early due to illness.
Frederick left us on November 10, 2022 after battling this long term illness. He leaves to mourn his loving sister Sandra Mcclain, his niece Janice Mcclain who both loved and took care of him until his passing. He will also be truly missed by numerous other family members, too many to name. Sleep well, Unc.
