Gerald "Jerry" P. Griffith

Gerald P. Griffith (Jerry), born January 16th, 1949, passed peacefully at his home on March 27th, 2023.

Jerry is survived by his sister Joan Littleton (Bill); daughter Lisa (Magilton); son Gerald, three grandchildren, Shane, Jessica, Christian; one great-grandson, Zachary (Magilton).  He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and many friends.

Jerry is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and May; brother Charles (Chuck); brother Donald "Donnie" (Dottie) and niece Joan Marie Howell.

Jerry graduated from Drexel University in 1995.  He then began his career as a neurolophysiologist technician.

Jerry is a beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.

He loved cheering on Philadelphia sports teams, sharing stories about his travels and talking about movies. He loved Ancient Egyptian history and could talk for hours about it.

He was so fascinated with ancient  Egypt, he even taught himself Egyptian Hieroglyphs.

Jerry was very social.  He played darts, and pool.   He was on local Philadelphia team leagues. The friendships he made during his years of playing pool and shooting darts lasted his lifetime, from Leneghans to Morrell Tavern, his circle of friends became more like his extended family and he adored them as they did him.

Daddio-as you wished- you are and forever will be remembered fondly, thought of kindly, missed beyond words, bringing a smile to all those who knew you.

In the words of what you called your “Epitaph” a song called

“Let Me Sing and I’m Happy”,   by Al Jolson

“Let me sing a funny song with crazy words that roll along, and if my song can start you laughing, I’m happy... so happy”

In loving memory.
