It’s with great sadness that the family of Harry Hober Jr. announces his passing on August 25, 2022, at the age of 81.
Harry was born in Philadelphia on September 20, 1940 to Harry and Lucielle (nee Borno) Hober. He was drafted into the service in Vietnam in 1963, serving in the Army’s First Air Cavalry, an elite unit using helicopters.
Harry was very involved with Boy Scout Troop 314 in multiple roles for over 20 years. He loved going camping, fishing with his boys, and making decorative neckerchief slides.
Harry will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 56 years Joan Mae (nee Estes); his three children Michelle Hober Pawlikowski (Darin), Harrison Hober (Amy) and Jason Estes Hober (Holly), his grandchildren Troy, Chris, Vivian, Miranda and Mackenzie, his sister Arlene Riotto (John) and sister-in-law Jeanette Shaffer (Walter), in addition to his nephews and niece.
Please join the Hober family after 1:00 pm Sunday, September 11th at Delaware Valley Cremation Center 7350 State Road Philadelphia, PA 19136 for a gathering of remembrance in honoring and celebrating Harry’s life. The memorial tribute service will begin at 2:00 with time for refreshments and fellowship immediately afterwards, from around 2:15 until 4:00 pm, where Harry's family will be accessible to receive the loving comfort of your condolences, remembrances and support.
Interment will take place at Washington Crossing National Cemetery with military honors on a later date.
