Harry Thomas Loudenslager, Jr.

Harry Thomas Loudenslager, Jr was born on November 17, 1944 in Philadelphia, PA. He passed away on Monday, August 9, 2021 at the age of 76 at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Camden New Jersey. Harry leaves behind many family and friends who loved him deeply.

Harry was predeceased by his beloved wife, Sharon Lee (Koch) Loudenslager, after 52 years of marriage, and his parents Harry T. Loudenslager, Sr and Caroline (Schretzman) Loudenslager. He was survived by his children Harry T. Loudenslager III, Karen D. (Loudenslager) Cruz (Luis Cruz), and Jennifer M. Loudenslager; sister Barbara Ann (Loudenslager) Catagnus, grandchildren Victoria A. Loudenslager, Marcus L. Cruz, Zachary T. Cruz; and many nieces and nephews.

Harry attended Thomas Edison High School. He was employed at the Pennsylvania Engineering Company as a chemical technician, where he worked for 44 years until the company closed in the early 1990’s. Harry centered his life around his family, to whom he was very dedicated, and he cherished time, laughter, and memories made with family. He especially loved Christmas when family and friends celebrated together. When Santa Claus made his annual appearance, Harry was like a big kid who smiled from ear to ear, excited to get his picture with Santa.

Harry had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to make people laugh. His favorite response when asked how he was feeling was “with my hands.” Even with no filter, people knew him as a Teddy Bear who was generous and kind. Harry put others first without hesitation and would give the shirt off his back to anyone reaching out for help.

Harry enjoyed a good book, beach trips, time with his grandchildren, and socializing at the adult center in Delran, NJ. He loved his church family at the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Cherry, Hill, NJ. In earlier years, he loved the boy scouts, the family stable (now Northern Liberties), bowling with Fleetwood Bowling league, taking part in Roller Derby, working as a marshall with the Dick Crean and Duffy String Band New Years Day, and serving as co-pilot on long truck rides with his dear friend. Harry enjoyed fundraising for the Deborah Heart and Lung alongside his wife, Sharon, who served as the Treasurer. A man of many interests, Harry loved horses, fishing, hunting, camping, bowling, baseball, football, soccer, poker, and black jack. Harry was loyal, generous, well loved and will be missed tremendously by his family and friends.
