Henry C. Newton

Henry C. Newton passed away on October 11, 2022, age 87.

Devoted husband first to Victoria, and second to Anna. Beloved father of Victoria and Wanda, stepfather of Frank (Yuen) and William (Ellen). Also survived by granddaughters Nastassia (Leonard) and Kira (Stephen), his sister Barbara, and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his son, Richard (Donna).

Henry did not have an easy life. He started working at an early age doing farm labor as a foster child. He was a hard worker often working two and three jobs to provide for his family. He did everything from working in factories, pumping gas, shoveling coal on the Philadelphia waterfront, fixing cars, driving limousines and hearses, to being an oil delivery man and boiler operator. Henry could fix anything and was a jack of all trades.

Henry loved his Phillies and Eagles and would loudly cheer and complain about them in equal measure. He loved all things “country” from watching his cowboy shows to listening to country music. He loved his Dolly and Reba! He loved his many pets throughout his life and most recently his cats, Casper and Chaz. Chaz was his best buddy and will sorely miss his Daddy. First and foremost, Henry was a provider and protector who would do anything for his family and friends. Was he a saint? Hell no! His temper was legendary and he was as stubborn as a mule but underneath his tough exterior was a man with a heart of gold.

He fought with all his strength in the past three months to get back home for the holidays, his favorite time of the year. He came back from the brink several times to the astonishment of his doctors but in the end, the good lord called him home.

Relatives and friends are invited to his Memorial Service at 5:00 P.M. on Monday October 17, 2022 at Peace Lutheran Church, 3900 Hulmeville Road, Bensalem, PA 19020.
