Irene Ott (née Karabim) age 93, passed away peacefully on Januarv 6, 2026, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Born on January 9,1932 in Abington, Pennsylvania, Irene lived a long and meaningful life marked by kindness, resilience, and deep devotion to her family.
Irene was the beloved wife of the late Jack Ott. Together they raised two children, John Ott and Kim Ott, both of whom preceded her in death. Despite these profound losses Irene remained a source of strength and warmth for those around her.
She was also predeceased by her parents, Micheal and Eva Karabim; her sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Michael Kolisnyk; and her niece Margie Barnes. Her memory now lives on through her devoted nieces and nephew: Sheryl Lamontagne, Ed Long Jr. Kathy Hirn, Cindy Ott, Patti O'Rourke, and Michelle Kolisnyk. She is also remembered with love by her sister-in-law Doris Long.
Irene dedicated many years of service to the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), where she worked alongside her daughter. Her commitment to her work was matched only by the joy she found in spending time with loved ones. Weekends at Lake Wallenpaupack were especially cherished - times filled with laughter, nature, and the company of family and friends enjoying mountain life together.
Known for her gentle spirit and unwavering compassion, Irene had a remarkable ability to uplift others even when she herself was in pain. Her kindness left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her.
In addition to her family members, Irene will be deeply missed by her devoted caregivers Terry Fera and Lori Hettinger, whose care brought comfort and companionship during her later years.
May Irene's memory bring peace to all who knew and loved her.
