James P. McCarthy

James P. “Jim” McCarthy passed away surrounded by loving family on December 22, 2018 at the age of 79. Jim, the son of Sylvester McCarthy and Eleanor (Miller) McCarthy, was born and raised in Mahanoy Plane, PA.He is survived by his beloved wife Alva and four children: Daughter Christine (McCarthy) Gleniewicz, husband Mark and children Jordon, Morgan, and Logan; Son Sean McCarthy, wife Jennifer and children Sean Jr, Devin, and Zoe; Son Peter McCarthy, wife Carreen and children Colin, Cara, and Malory; Daughter Monica (McCarthy) Weisberg, husband Joshua and children Evan and Simone.

Jim retired in 2004 after his career with UBS/PaineWebber in New York City. He was a longtime, active member of St. John the Evangelist Parish in Yardley, PA serving in various ministries. Visitation will be Saturday, December 29th from 9:30 to 11am at St. John the Evangelist with Mass to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society or St. John the Evangelist Youth Ministry.
