James L. Montgomery

James L. Montgomery passed away peacefully on June 15, 2024. He is survived by his wife of 52 years Susan (nee Kumelesky), daughter Kelly Ann, sister Joan Lee, as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and great, great-nieces and nephews.

As a young man Jim worked the docks checking ships as they arrived. He was a brick/stone pointer for many years. In the 1980s he became a Real Estate Agent and went on to become a Real Estate Broker.

Jim was a lifelong resident of Philadelphia. He grew up in Juniata Park. He was an avid bowler, bowling in the Erie Lanes Majors for many years. Golfing was a hobby he enjoyed and he occasionally attended pro tournaments. He was a big sports fan, he loved the Eagles and absolutely loved the Phillies. He watched almost every game, every season, and was a season ticket holder much of his life. He and Susan traveled extensively throughout the US. He loved the Jersey shore and made many trips every year. 

Please join the Montgomery family on Saturday July 13, 2024 from 3pm to 6pm at Delaware Valley Cremation Center, 7350 State Road, Philadelphia, PA 19136 for a gathering of remembrance in honoring and celebrating Jim's life. A service for him will begin at 4:00 pm with time for refreshments afterwards, until 6:00 pm.
