Age: 78 of Philadelphia
Passed away Thursday, August 15th, 2019, at the age of 78.
She was born and raised in Philadelphia, and was the daughter of the late Theodore and Mabel Scott. Jane became a beloved mother, wife, sister, aunt, grammy and GED teacher for Lutheran Settlement House and Center for Literacy of Philadelphia.
Jane gave her children all her love, energy, and devotion; a devotion which helped her to raise four children on her own. Jane was knowledgeable, wise, caring, and always willing to help others, especially her children and grandchildren. She cherished her time spent with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren at her trailer in Mays Landing, NJ.
Jane will be greatly missed by everyone, but the love she had for her family and friends will live on eternally in the hearts and minds of those she loved so dearly.
She is proceeded in death by her parents, Theodore and Mabel Scott, and her brother Robert.
Jane is survived by her children, Debra (Joseph) Dawicki III, Jane Ellen (Anthony) Surbrook, Terrence McGovern, Keith (Patricia) McGovern, her grandchildren, Kristi (Debbie) Zeigler, Joseph (Ciara) Dawicki IV, Scott (Chelsie) Doublesky, Keith and Hayden McGovern, great grandchildren, Jacob, Zachary, & Whitney Zeigler, her brother Ronald (Linda) Scott, and many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate Jane’s Life Tuesday August 20th at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 3101 Tyson Avenue, Philadelphia from 9:00 am to 10:00 am with her funeral mass celebration immediately following. Interment will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery, 5700 Frankford Avenue, Philadelphia.
