Janice M. Roxberry (née McGarvey), 73, of Philadelphia, PA, suddenly passed away on December 25, 2025.
Janice was born on September 2, 1952, in Philadelphia, PA, to James and Anna May McGarvey (née Ruoff). Janice’s greatest pride was her family, and she was a steadfast source of love and support to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her love of cooking made her truly remarkable in the kitchen, and one of her greatest joys was feeding her family and friends, bringing everyone together through meals made with love.
She was deeply proud to be the wife and mother of United States Marines and often spoke fondly of her time living on base in Hawaii, as well as her years in North Carolina and Mississippi. A proud Little Flower High School alumna, she cherished her connection to the school throughout her life. Janice was a devoted lover of animals and always found joy in their companionship and advocated for their care. A true Philadelphian at heart, she was always cheering on the Phillies and Eagles and embracing every season with enthusiasm.
She is survived by her sons, Mark Roxberry (Christine) and Scott Roxberry (Patricia); her daughter, Stephanie Morawski (Dave); her grandchildren, Madelyne Sieruc (Brian), Mathieu Morawski, Molly Roxberry, Mary Cate Roxberry, and Leah Morawski; and her great-grandson, Chase Sieruc. She was also excitedly awaiting the arrival of her great-granddaughter in January 2026.
Janice is also survived by her sister, Diane McGonagle (Robert), along with many cousins, nieces, and nephews. She was predeceased by her ex-husband, George H. Roxberry, Jr.; her parents, James and Anna May McGarvey; and her twin sister, Jeanette McGarvey.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, January 24, 2026, at 11:00 am at St. Dominic Catholic Church, 8504 Frankford Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19136. A celebration of Janice’s life will be held in the spring, when family and friends can gather to honor her memory.
Janice loved animals and supported many charitable causes dedicated to their care. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made in her memory to ACCT Philly, ASPCA, or PetSmart Charities.
