Joan Popielarski

Joan Popielarski, 78, of Philadelphia passed away peacefully on January 10, 2022. Fondly known by her family as Granny, she was a caring mother and a doting grandmother. She loved animals and was a supporter of the SPCA.

Her battle with serious medical issues for many years showed her courage in facing life challenges with a smile. Despite the pain, Granny came out a hero and stayed strong until the end.

She is survived by her children; Michael (Nancy), Joy (Bob) and Stephen; grandchildren Johnny, Kelly, Jeanette, Bethann, Melissa and Robby as well as many nieces and nephews.

Joan is now reunited with her parents, Edward and Marion; her loving sisters Catherine and Marion and her cherished grandson Michael.

Please join the Popielarski family from 6:00 - 8:00 pm, Monday, January 17, 2022 at Delaware Valley Cremation Center, 7350 State Road, Philadelphia, PA 19136 for a gathering of remembrance in honoring and celebrating Joan’s life.

Masks are required. If you are in any way compromised, the family requests you consider texting, commenting or a phone call in lieu of visitation.

Joan and her kids and my family go way back - to the 60's really. So even though we didn't talk or visit much in later years, my affection for her and her kids still endures. Condolences from me and my kids on their loss. Joan was a good-natured person and will be missed. She was one of the old-timers on our street.
