John F Dubell, Sr passed away peacefully on February 8, 2025 at the age of 91. John was a deeply loving and inspirational father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He made friends everywhere he went.

John is survived by two of his three children; John F Dubell, Jr. (Debbie) and Renee Andrussier (Craig), his grandchildren; Kelli Lynn Mundy (Dennis Napier), Christopher Mundy (Courtney Watkins) John Mathew, Amanda Brommer (Alex), his first great grandchild, Oliver Brommer, his brothers; Thomas Dubell and Joseph Dubell, along with many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his loving parents, Firman and Eleanor Dubell, his second son; Bruce Dubell, two of his brothers; Harry and Robert.

John was a sportsman in his day and a loyal Yankees fan. He played 4 years varsity baseball, and enjoyed hunting, fishing, shooting at the range and bowling. He bowled against and beat three professional bowlers! He also enjoyed simply sitting outside in nature, no matter what time of year it was. Fresh air on his face, skin warmed by the sun while watching the birds, deer, etc.

John was an Army veteran. He completed training for 188th Airborne Infantry Regiment. He enjoyed Germany while stationed there. He completed his time in the Army Reserves and transitioned into firefighting in Crosswicks, NJ. Later in his career, he would move on to training with NJSP to serve as fire police locally.

John worked for RCA/David Sarnoff research center where he worked on the prototype defibrillator amongst many other projects. He was highly recognized in his field. He also met some lifelong friends while here.

Most of all, John loved his family and friends. If you ever needed anything, at anytime he was your man. We were so lucky to have him. Fierce protector when needed but most of the time, just the sweetest most loving man.

A private service for immediate family members will be held at Washington Crossing National Cemetery with Military Honors at a future date.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the following in John’s name to Delaware Valley Veteran’s Home, Residents Welfare Fund 2701 Southampton Road Philadelphia, PA 19154
