John J. Kelly Jr.

John J. Kelly Jr. born in Manoa, PA on May 4th, 1948 to the late, John J. Sr. and Margaret Kelly. John passed away December 6th, 2023 surrounded by his loving family.

He was a loving husband to Janet Kelly (nee Gerstner) for 51 years. He was a loving father to his children, John J. III and his wife Renee, and Jennifer Mosher and her husband Jason. He will be missed dearly by his grandchildren, Ruby and Emma Mosher. To be a father and pop was the best gift he ever could have asked for. Also surviving John is his dear brother and best friend, Ray Kelly and his wife Sue, his sister Karen Kelly, brother Bob Kelly and his wife Jamie, sister-in-law Joanne Szwanki. As well as many nieces and nephews. 

John grew up in Huntingdon Valley, PA and lived in Rockledge, PA. He graduated from Cardinal Dougherty High School in 1966. John lived his life not only for his family but for his country. John was a Vietnam Veteran serving in the U.S Army, receiving The Purple Heart and several service medals.

His greatest joy was spending time with family. John enjoyed talking about the battles of the Civil War, especially Gettysburg and he had a great interest in American and World history.

John also enjoyed traveling, reading, movies and spending time relaxing in his pool. He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter and unwavering strength. 

A service honoring John's life will be held at 1:00pm, Wednesday, December 27, 2023 at Washington Crossings National Cemetery, 830 Highland Road, Newtown, PA 18940. Please arrive at 12:45pm, prior to the service.
