Surrounded by those who loved him the most, John Vernon Klingler of Norristown peacefully went home to the Lord after courageously battling a brief illness. He was 52. Born in Camden, NJ, John was the son of Betsy Roberts and John Klingler. In addition to his parents, John is survived by siblings, Susanna, Lauren and John; daughter, Mary; step-children, Thomas L Reese Lincoln and Dorothy Ann Lincoln; a grandson; and several nieces and nephews who adored him. John also leaves behind many friends who loved him deeply.
John spent his career in various services to others â€"a police officer, fire fighter, EMT and skilled auto mechanic. John also loved to act. You may have been terrified by him at Frightland on more than one occasion. While John enjoyed scaring people at Halloween, his most favorite time of the year was when he was Santa Claus at Christmas. He selflessly volunteered to spread Christmas cheer for work parties, churches and preschools; always especially looking forward to that.
John was fondly called Bear or Uncle Bear as he was a sweet teddy bear; a gentle giant, who would do anything for a friend. He was a kind and selfless man who would always lend a hand or a listening ear to a friend in need. John also loved a great joke and was a die-hard Eagles fan and animal lover. John touched the hearts of everyone he knew. There will be a memorial service to honor John’s memory at a future date. Interment will be private.
ÂIf you wish to honor John’s memory through a kind act, please donate to your local animal rescue or your local volunteer fire company.
