Joseph A. Awarski, Jr.

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Joseph Anthony Awarski (Ushie), a devoted husband, loving father, friend and cherished grandfather, who passed away on December 19, 2024 at the age of 92. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, hard work,community service and unwavering support for his friends and family. 

Joseph was born in Primrose, Pennsylvania and spent his youth in Minnersville, Pennsylvania. He spent his youth engaged in sports and graduated from Cass Township High School. Joseph following high school joined the United States Air Force as an Airman Technician during the Korean conflict. Joe received the National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal and received an honorable discharge as a testimonial of his Honest and Faithful Service. 

Joe was passionate about his wife, Leona, a fellow veteran of the United States Marine Corp and together they shared a marriage of 66 years. Joe loved fishing, sports, casino activites, Polka music and his work as a refrigeration and air conditioning service provider for over 60 years. His other great passions included his grandson, Robert Breitner, his children, friends, family and Military Community.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Leona Awarski; his children, Linda Awarski, daughter; Debra Breitner, daughter and son Joseph C. Awarski (deceased) and his grandson, Robert A. Breitner. 

Joseph will be cremated and buried with Military Honors at Washington Crossing National Cemetery. Date and Time to be determined.
