Joseph Michael Beres Jr., 79, of Philadelphia, passed away on November 14, 2022, at Chestnut Hill Lodge, Glenside, PA.
Joseph was born on May 27, 1943, in Shenandoah Heights, PA, to Joseph Beres and Catherine Beres (nee Stepalovitch). He graduated from Delaware Township High School (Cherry Hill High School West) in 1962 and spent most of his working career in manufacturing. He retired from L3 Harris Technologies in 2016.
Joseph enjoyed playing Jingles the Clown at numerous children’s parties and filling in for Santa at Greeby Street. When he wasn’t clowning around, he might be found picking a winning horse, rooting for the Phillies, or just hanging out with his fellow Kensos from the old neighborhood.
Joseph was predeceased by his parents; his first wife, Rosemary (nee Xanthoplous); and his second wife Elizabeth (nee Bard). Joseph was fond of saying, “We don’t ‘step’ on our family members.” As such, he is survived by his mother Cass (Robert) Cooper (nee Ferguson); five children: Joseph (Donna) Beres III, Angela (Ken) Kreiser, Terri (Wayne) Hammett, Karen (Ed) Sweeney, and Melissa Mabe; and six brothers and sisters: Shirley Miller, Richard Beres, Kathy (Ray) Kuntz (nee Cooper), Wendell Stephen Beres, Joanne Beres, and Michael Beres. He is also survived by ten grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Plans for a memorial service will be announced at a later time.
