Joseph Dessin

Joseph DessinÂ(Joe), of PhiladelphiaÂpassed away on Saturday, JanuaryÂ2, 2021, at the age of 80. ÂFather of Sharon Dessin (Steven) and Joanne Dessin (Christopher) and Grandfather toÂErin,ÂKatherine, Thomas and Abigail. ÂHe will also be missed byÂhis siblings:ÂBarbara Rushton (Al), Richard (Joan), MaryÂBupp, Carol Stroup and numerous nieces and nephews.Â

Joe lovedÂbowling and could be found playing in many leagues in the Philadelphia area over much of his lifetime. He also enjoyed salt water fishing at the Jersey shore, and watching his Eagles and Phillies games over some cold beers.ÂÂHis family suspected that he enjoyed complaining about them when they were bad as much as he did celebrating when they won championships. In addition, Joe greatly enjoyed visits with his family and playing and winning at Christmas Charades. He was fondÂofÂsinging and harmonizing to some of his favorite Johnny Mathis or Doo Wop songs,Âdancing with his daughtersÂand enjoyed buying treats for his beloved grandchildren. Joe also greatly enjoyed lunching with his many sisters and brothers whom were very important to him and he loved very much. Joe was self-employed as a wallpaper installer and also worked for wallpaper retailers in Philadelphia. Â

Acelebrationof his lifewill be held at a later date as soon as conditions permit.In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Joe's name be sent to Federation Housing, 8900 Roosevelt Blvd., Philadelphia, PA 19115.
