Joseph Daniel Pearce

With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Joseph Daniel Pearce, a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and great-grandfather at the age of 83. Joseph was born March 5, 1941, in Philadelphia, a son of the late Joseph and Mary (Trunfio) Pearce. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 60 years Judith (Pietrofesa). 

Joseph will be sadly missed by his daughter Lisa (Kenny) Kipke, and sons Joseph (Felicia), and Daniel (Susan).

He will also be greatly missed by his sister Theresa (Naudacher).

Joseph, a proud United States Navy veteran, served his country with honor from October 1959 to October 1963. Following his military service, he embarked on a successful career in the printing industry, and after a two-week retirement, decided to take on a second career at the School District of Philadelphia. 

Joseph was a proud grandfather of Robert Cowden (Rachel), Kaitlin Hamilton (Michael), Chelsea Pearce, Michael Cowden, Madeline Pearce and Sean Pearce, and a great-grandfather to RJ Cowden, Rowen Cowden, Maeve Preston, and Hudson Hamilton.

Joe was also survived by sisters-in-law, Elaine Hagen and Cheryl Glaser, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to honor Joseph's life on Friday July 26, 2024 at St. Anselm Church, 12670 Dunks Ferry Road Philadelphia, PA. 19154. A memorial visitation for Joseph will be held from 10:00 am to 10:45 am  with his memorial mass beginning at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers donations in Joseph's memory can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at www.stjude.org
