Joseph G. Schwartz

Joseph (Joe) Gary Schwartz Sr passed away on May 7th after a brief battle with cancer. Joe was born in Frankford Hospital on June 9, 1959 to Paul and Wanda Schwartz. He married the love of his life, Nanette (née Jones) and together they raised four beautiful children. Laura Reinas, Shanna Chesnut (née Reinas), Jenna Schwartz and Joseph Gary Schwartz Jr. He was extremely happy when his granddaughter, Delilah Chestnut joined the family and made him a PopPop. He was also loved and is missed by his faithful dog, Leo.

Joe proudly served his country in the Air Force from 1979-1983.

Joe worked as a HVAC commercial mechanic and was employed by the Philadelphia International Airport, the Verizon Building and Kennedy Hospital before retiring.

He enjoyed spending his time traveling with Nanette, spending time with his family and fishing with his best friend, Doc, at the Jersey Shore.

Joe was fiercely loyal and loved his family. He is also survived by his three sisters Janet Schwartz, Debbie Schwartz, Michele Ludwig (née Schwartz) and his many nieces and nephews.

Please join the Schwartz family after 6:00 pm on Thursday June 9th 2022, at Delaware Valley Cremation Center, 7350 State Road, Philadelphia, PA 19136 for a gathering of remembrance in honoring and celebrating Joe’s life. Family sharing will begin at 7:00 pm with time for refreshments and fellowship immediately afterwards, until 9:00 pm, where Joe’s family will be accessible to receive the loving comfort of your condolences, remembrances and support.
