Joyce Christine Williams, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away on December 27, 2025, at the age of 90.
Born on July 24, 1935, Joyce was the daughter of French-Canadian immigrants and grew up on her family farm in Redford, New York, alongside her nine beloved siblings. Her early life instilled a strong work ethic, resilience, and a deep sense of responsibility to family and community—values that shaped her life and vocation. Joyce devoted her life to the care of others.
A lifelong nurse, Joyce served those most in need, ultimately becoming a Lead at Friends Hospital in Philadelphia, where she cared for patients facing acute and chronic mental health challenges. Her work reflected compassion, patience, and an unwavering respect for the dignity of every person—especially the most vulnerable.
Joyce was an anchor of support to her family and community. She offered steadiness, guidance, and practical help when it mattered most.
A woman of deep faith, Joyce was a devoted parishioner of St. Timothy’s Parish in NE Philadelphia for over 50 years, where a Funeral Mass was celebrated in her honor. Her faith guided her life and sustained her through service, family, and friendship. She believed firmly in God’s promise of eternal life and understood that what endures beyond this world is the love we give and the lives we touch.
Joyce is survived by her daughter, Gail, and her grandchildren, Robert, Sarah, Joshua, and Faith Reid, who will miss her deeply and carry forward her legacy of care, perseverance, and faith.
Joyce will be laid to rest in Redford, New York, in Spring 2026, beside her beloved husband, Ed, with whom she now shares eternal peace.
