The Foster family regrets to announce the passing of their precious Julia Rose Foster on Friday, December 2nd, 2022.
Julia was independent and self-sufficient from a young age, and truly passionate about helping others. She always prioritized the needs of her family, friends, and community above her own. Her soft voice and gentle manner consistently put others at ease. She was exceptionally capable of calming and supporting those in need - from family (she cared for her father, James Foster, who passed in 2018) to work and school environments.
Julia was a huge proponent of mental health and well-being, and was pursuing a degree in Nutrition & Dietetics at Immaculata University with the goal of serving the less fortunate.
A life-long learner with a broad array of talents, Julia loved playing the piano, journaling, and practicing both yoga and meditation. She was fascinated by the sciences – particularly biology and astronomy – and had eclectic tastes in books and music. Her shelves were lined with everything from the writings of Thich Nhat Hanh to her Father’s favorite Steely Dan albums.
Julia loved being with family at her grandparents’ home in Cape May, spending time with twenty-five first cousins, and enjoying the company of lifelong friends. She felt blessed to be rich in nieces and nephews, and loved to spend time with Brooke, Anabel, Andee, and Aeson, who is also her godson.
She adored her brothers, Mother, and significant other, Brendan. Her strong connection to family was evident in her appreciation of the Latin Motto from the Foster Family Crest. The phrase reaches back centuries, and now captures our hearts. Si Fractus Fortis (Though broken, Strong).
Julia is survived by Barbara Patterson Foster, Andrew Foster (Angela), Jamie Foster (Autumn), and Brendan McCarthy.
Julia’s Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, December 17th at St. Anastasia Catholic Church (3301 West Chester Pike, Newtown Sq. PA).
Visitation: 9:30 - 10:30. Mass: 10:30 AM
Contributions in Julia Foster’s name can be sent to the Association for Frontotemporal Degeneration (www.theaftd.org) or a charity of your choice.
