Kathleen “Kathy” A. Halas

Kathleen “Kathy” A. Halas, 54, of Philadelphia, PA,passed away peacefully on the morning of March 18 ^th 2021, after a brief illness.

The funeral service will be held on March 24 ^th Âat St. Katherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church, 9700 Frankford Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19114. Relatives and friends are invited to her Visitation at 9:00 A.M., followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 A.M. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.

Kathleen was born in Philadelphia, PA, on January 15 ^th Â1967. She graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School in Philadelphia and went on to receive a Paralegal Certificate from the Institute of Paralegal Studies. In her younger years, Kathy worked as a paralegal for law firms in and around the city. Her interest and love of the law continued well after her professional career was abbreviated due to a Multiple Sclerosis diagnosis. Kathy was selfless in love, caring most about her children, grandson, family and friends. Â

Kathleen is survived by her children, Stephan and Lew Halas, her grandson, Logan, her parents Albert J. Wernery Sr. (Barbara) and Mary Ann Callan (James), and her sisters Barbara Trainor (Stephen) and Jennifer Lane (David). She was also survived by her nieces and nephews, Joshua and Addison Trainor, and Finn and Caroline Lane.

Kathleen is preceded in death by her brother, Albert J. “Buddy” Wernery Jr.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
