Colonel Kenneth Arthur Euart, USAF Retired, formerly of Glen Rock, NJ, died peacefully on June 30, 2018 in Lankenau Medical Center Hospital in Wynnewood, PA. ÂHe was a resident in Symphony Square ALF in Bala Cynwyd, PA.
Mr. Euart was born in Brooklyn, NY to Arthur Edward Euart and Ida Lane Euart on September 06, 1919. AsÂan adolescent he performed trick horseback riding and also achieved the rank of Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts of America. Following high school, he received an associate’s degree in business from New York University and worked at an import/export firm in New York City. In 1942 he married his first wife, Joyce Mample, who preceded him in death in 1987. They were married for forty-five years and had three children.
He joined the U.S. Army Air Corps in September 1943 as a Captain and served throughout WWII as both a Squadron Navigator and an Intelligence Officer in the New Guinea Campaign in the Pacific. He was separated in December 1945. Following WWII, he returned to NYU and earned his Bachelor’s Degree. In 1947 when the Army Air Corps became the U.S. Air Force, he continued to serve as Captain & Squadron Navigator, and flew missions in two additional wars, Korea and Vietnam. After 37 years he separated from the U.S.A.F. on September 6, 1979 having earned the rank of ("Full Bird") Colonel and a number of service awards. ÂHe then joined the Civil Air Patrol and was employed by General Electric Company as an Export Purchasing Agent until his retirement.
He is survived by his second wife, Peggy Jane Euart in Philadelphia, PA., who gave him 30 years of love and happiness, and her two daughters, Barbara and Marilyn Hammer.
Mr. Euart is also survived by his three children and their families: Daughter, Susan Joyce Lynch and her three children, David, Brian & Richard, as well as his three Great Grandchildren - Lydia, Sauren and Nick. All currently reside in North Carolina.ÂSon, Jeffrey Mample Euart, his wife Joanne and his three children, Jennifer, Cheryl, and Christopher, as well asÂhis other five Great Grandchildren - Savanna, Nehemiah, Riley, Aubree, and Emma. All currently reside in South Florida.ÂHis youngest son, Scott Kenneth Euart, lives in the Lake Tahoe area of Nevada. HeÂis a retiredÂCFPÂwhoÂhelped our Dad throughout many years, andÂisÂa loving brother to both Susan & Jeffrey.
In addition to his favorite hobbies of golf and fishing, Colonel Euart was a proud veteran and enjoyed his friendships with other veterans in both the American Legion and the Veteran of Foreign Wars (V.F.W.)
