Kenneth J. Millevoi, Sr., 78, a lifelong resident of Philadelphia, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 20, 2021. Surrounded by his loving family and the most magnificent version of Amazing Grace played so eloquently on the saxophone by his brother-in-law, Kenn Dorn.
Born on March 14, 1943 in Philadelphia at Episcopal Hospital, the son of Arthur James and Stella Mae (DeLuca), predeceased.
Husband of beloved wife Phyllis J. (nee Dorn). Devoted father of Kenneth, Jr. (Nancy), Janice nee Darragh (Jimmy), Kevin Sr. (Kim), Nicole nee Rouzer (Dwayne). Most loving grandfather to Kenny III, Jacob (Sofiya), Kyle, Anthony, Alexa, Ava, Kevin Jr., Connor, Stella; great-grandfather to Savannah Rae.
Brother of Gerald (Jacquie), brother-in-law of Kenn Dorn. Predeceased by Arthur and Peggy Millevoi. Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Ken will be remembered by his loving wife Phyllis of 58 years. They enjoyed spending summers in Ocean City, NJ, traveling across the globe, and cruising with the family. Ken relished his fishing trips to Costa Rica, cooking for family and friends, and most of all he loved to be surrounded by his family for Sunday dinners in Ocean City, NJ. He was an avid saxophone player and a lover of all things jazz. Another favorite activity was watching old and new western movies.
Ken’s business story started as a Milkman at Harbison's Dairies until he ventured into the Byberry and Academy Esso in 1966. With his brothers by his side, in the early 1970’s, the Manor House was born. Moving ahead to 1976, Parkwood Auto Parts Store was the anchor inthe parts business throughout Northeast Philadelphia. From here Millevoi’s Sunoco was opened in 1982. Following up with Millevoi’s Goodyear in 1986. Leaving a legacy of auto repair service behind him. His sons, son-in-law, and nephews continued in the family business becoming a staple throughout Northeast Philadelphia, South Jersey Shore and the Bucks County area to this day.
Simply said, Ken set the best possible example of how a life should be lived. Kenny was a loving husband, father, pop-pop, great-grandpop, friend, brother, uncle, in-law and a businessman like no other. Ken was renowned for his business acumen. Most notably, Kenny will be remembered by his generosity, kindness, humor, love for life and pranks to be had. His loving heart left a beacon of love for all in the community. Ken will be forever missed but his memory will live on.
Relatives and friends are invited to the visitation on Saturday, March 27th, between 10 A.M. - 1 P.M. at St. Katherine of Sienna Catholic Church, 9700 Frankford Ave., Philadelphia, PA 19114. Relatives and friends are also invited to a Funeral Mass at 1:00 P.M. Interment Private.ÂÂ
