Laura Ann Roper

Laura Ann Roper, 80, of Clifton, Virginia, died peacefully on October 7, 2026 surrounded by family after a brief and courageous battle with cancer.

Laura was born on July 13, 1946 in Jamaica Queens, NY. She was raised in North Merrick, NY alongside her sister, Roberta. At 18, Laura married Peter B. Treiber and together they welcomed two children, Celeste and Kevin. Though they later parted ways, they remained proud of the family they built. On September 27, 1980, Laura married William C. Roper II. “Bill” was the love of her life. They lived happily together in Florida for 27 years surrounded by family, friends, and of course their cats.

Laura was known for her friendly and spunky personality and her love for her family – especially her 6 grandchildren. She was a free spirit and never quite let go of her inner “Hippie” from the 60s. She spent the later years in Florida with her husband Bill – they loved to travel and go on cruises. Laura especially loved historic, civil war site road trips. She loved cats and while living in Florida volunteered her time rescuing and rehoming feral cats. And if she couldn’t find a home, brought them in to hers! Her last eighteen years were spent watching her grandchildren grow up and tending to her garden and birds in Virginia.

Laura is survived by her daughter Celeste Klitenic, son-in-law Jake Klitenic, her grandsons Jacob, Dylan and Christian; her son Kevin Treiber, fiancé Nicole Williams, her granddaughter Jasmine and grandsons Shane and William (Will); her beloved sister Roberta Baumstein, brother in-law Robert Baumstein and nephew Matthew; her sister and brother-in-law Alice and Greg Roper; stepson Michael Roper; stepdaughter Mary Catherine Cryer and the entire extended family. Laura was preceded in death by her parents William C. and Dorothy L. McNiff and her husband William C. Roper II, her ever devoted best friend.

A funeral Mass and Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday October 24, 2026 at 10:30 AM at St. John the Evangelist Church, 752 Big Oak Road, Yardley, PA 19067.
