Leonard E. Ginchereau, Sr.

Leonard E. Ginchereau Sr. “Big Bear”, passed away on December 3, 2021 at the age of 67, surrounded by his loved ones. He served as a Philadelphia Police Officer from 1996 until he retired in 2018. He was our real-life hero that earned his wings way too soon. He left an impression on everyone he met.

He leaves behind his loving and devoted wife of 50 years, Kathleen Ann Ginchereau; his six children: Leonard Ginchereau Jr. (Maggie), Kathleen Jordan, Heather Devlin (Donnie), Donna Daehling (Dan), Jason Ginchereau (Jenn), Shawn Ginchereau (Danielle); 18 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

Please join the Ginchereau family after 6:00 pm Wednesday, December 8th, 2021 at Delaware Valley Cremation Center, 7350 State Road Philadelphia, PA 19136 for a gathering of remembrance in honoring and celebrating Leonard’s life. The memorial tribute service will begin promptly at 7:00 with time for fellowship immediately afterwards, 7:30 to 9:30, where Leonard's family will be accessible to receive the loving comfort of your condolences, remembrances and support.
